Engineered by DOBBS was established in December of 2023 as a new branding getting out of the random short-term consulting business opportunities and focusing on more long-term project customer relationships.
DOBBS Consulting Firm was founded by Brent Dobbs in Tulsa, OK in 2019. Brent Dobbs has in excess of 30 years’ experience with a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa.
Brent Dobbs received in April of 2002 an Award for Co-Chairing as Spokesman for the AFS Conference in behalf of Boeing and Honeywell.
In graduate studies at the Univ of Tulsa, Brent specialized within the Mechanical Engineering Master's studies on Composites, Finite Element Modeling/Analysis (FEM/FEA) and Stress Analysis under direction of the Dean of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Edmund Rybicki, who is industry renown in those areas of research. Some of the projects included strain gage testing of high-tech baseball bats to characterize the response of the trampoline effect of the bat relative to the energy transfer to the ball. Another project was FEM/FEA of an explosion-proof baggage compartment working with the military to combat terrorism. A project with Conoco/Phillips was conducted to analyze carbon fiber / graphite epoxy composites layed up with different ply angle strategies to evaluate properties/strength on test coupons for Tension, Compression, Shear, Torsion, Bending, etc.
Brent Dobbs received the Six Sigma Champion Award while with Honeywell for developing a proprietary weld repair for the Abrams M1A1 Tank that reduced the infrared heat signature detection by enemy radar in the Iraq war saving US Military Tank Battalion captain's lives and significantly extending the life of US Tanks in battle. Even though the US had sold over 140 of these tanks to Iraq prior, our proprietary repair was held confidential by TACOM to US based Abrams M1A1 tanks only giving US Troops a distinct advantage in the battle field over Iraq older versions of same tank design.
Brent Dobbs led a project with Sikorsky doing MRO for Generators on the Presidential Helicopter fleet that led to the profitable decision to overhaul these generators at every shop visit win-win-win deal (OEM / Repair Supplier / Operator).
Brent Dobbs also assisted Rockwell in developing the RAS/RAM Stealth technology in an Anechoic Chamber with Pylon & Rotator system that tested scaled versions of Radar Cross-sections of various aircraft shape components at different angles of attack to reduce RCS detection ultimately leading to Stealth bomber capabilities. Brent took graduate studies in RCS Electromagnetic Spectrum theory at the University of Tulsa led by Dr. Robert Strattan, who also led research for Rockwell in the RAS/RAM group.
Brent Dobbs received in 2019 his first Expert Witness contract and began practicing Consulting Engineering in 2016.
Brent Dobbs has been working with RJSIS doing Engine Condition Trend-Monitoring since 2002 saving airlines millions of dollars assuring Gas Turbine Engines are healthy real-time in flight, as well as improving passenger safety.
In addition to Brent Dobbs performing a wide variety of Engineering services, Brent has also successfully helped companies like Triumph double revenue in 3 years as Director of Engineering from $15M to $30M and has served as VP of Engineering for manufacturing operations.
